Dr Erin has lived in Kerang with her three children since 2019, having first worked in the region in 2016 before commencing specialist rural GP training. She relocated to Swan Hill from Bendigo in 2016, where she had been teaching medical students at the Bendigo Rural Clinical School. While practising clinically in Swan Hill, she continued her teaching role, commuting weekly to Bendigo via Kerang for clinic days and overnight on – call duties. The wel coming Kerang community ultimately became home for her and her family.
Dr Erin is a rural generalist with advanced specialist training in Emergency Medicine and holds a Fellowship with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM). She was p art of the inaugural medical student cohort at the University of Wollongong in 2007, graduating in 2010 before returning to Bendigo for an internship in 2011. Prior to medicine, she completed a Bachelor of Science at Monash University, majoring in Immunolo gy as a Dean ’ s List Scholar. Her passion for rural practice began during a Year 12 observership, where she recognised that in rural medicine, how care is delivered is as important as what is delivered.
As a Medical Educator, she mentors and supports doctor s training toward rural fellowship, delivering workshops, visiting placement clinics, and assisting with exam preparation and pathway planning. She also facilitates ACRRM continuing professional development courses in advanced resuscitation, emergency skil ls, pre – hospital care, ultrasound, and paediatric emergencies.
Dr Erin is a committed advocate for rural health equity and believes health outcomes should not be determined by postcode. Raising her children locally remains her highest priority, supported b y strong family ties and active involvement in local sporting communities.
